Sainsbury’s has launched a festive challenge for Nectar customers, with all digitally registered users in with the chance of collecting at least 1,500 bonus points.

Through the ‘Count up to Christmas’ challenge, Nectar users will be given five personalised shopping tasks to complete while shopping at Sainsbury’s in-store or online over the festive season.

Once each task is complete, they will receive bonus Nectar points on top of the usual points collected during their shop.

The challenge will run from 9 October to 15 December and is available to all digitally registered Nectar users, with shoppers able to take part by logging into their account on the Nectar app and tapping ‘join the challenge’ to reveal their tasks.

Sainsbury’s director of CRM and loyalty Alex Naisby said: “Returning for another year, our hugely popular Count up to Christmas challenge offers customers another way to collect even more Nectar points when shopping with Sainsbury’s.

“Whether you like to save them up for a seasonal treat or put them towards your weekly shop, we hope that our customers enjoy getting in the festive spirit with us in the run up to Christmas.”

It comes as Sainsbury’s is to create 20,000 new seasonal roles nationwide as it gears up for the Christmas period.

The new employees will work across the supermarket’s stores, warehouses and online fulfilment centre, with 18,000 workers for Sainsbury’s and 2,000 for Argos.
