Tesco has launched its first-ever Finest Steakhouse range, and will debut a dedicated fixture in the meat aisle of over 150 stores.

Large shops across England and Wales are set to roll out the display which will include single steaks, sharing steaks, alternative mains, sides, and steak sauces and butters, with 23 products brand new to the supermarket’s customers.

Highlights among the new steaks on offer include premium cut sharing steaks, such as a T-bone, bone-on sirloin, Flat Iron and Cote du Boeuf, while single steaks include aged rump, sirloin, ribeye and thick-cut fillet.

The steaks are all British Aberdeen Angus, dry-aged for up to 35 days and hand-trimmed by expert butchers.

Tesco will also launch alternative mains including Wagyu burgers, duck breast supremes, slow-cooked Ossobuco, pork belly and smoky beef ribs.

Premium sides include triple cooked chips, rarebit dauphinoise potatoes and truffle mac & cheese, plus a range of steak sauces and butters such as truffle butter with cracked black pepper.

The supermarket’s new products come in high quality cardboard boxes, with back of packaging information including wine pairings, chef’s tips, and detailed cooking instructions, including, for the first time, meat thermometer cooking guides.

Tesco group brand director Matt Kay said: “Our customers love finding ways to treat themselves at home and Tesco Finest showcases our best quality ingredients, pulled together by our expert teams and suppliers to create something truly special. I am excited that we are adding the new Finest Steakhouse to the range, inspired by the gourmet steakhouse experience.

“It has something for anyone who wants to recreate a restaurant-quality meal at home, from sharing and single serve Aberdeen Angus steaks and alternative mains alongside indulgent sides, sauces and butters.”
