Coca-Cola launches a new 500ml ‘Supercan’ in promotion

Coca-Cola has unveiled a new 500ml Coca-Cola ‘Supercan’ format in GB, which is exclusively available in Sainsbury’s and will roll out nationwide from 2 March until 4 May.

This builds on Coca-Cola’s selection as the official soft drinks partner of the Premier League, which aims to unlock growth in the category among football fans.

Following the promotion, the 500ml cans will continue as part of the core range to strengthen the brand’s portfolio and meet rising consumer demand for bigger, more premium-looking packs.

Rob Yeomans, VP, commercial development at CCEP GB, said: “By introducing the Supercan in GB, we’re giving retailers a format that shoppers are actively looking for.

“For retailers, this is a powerful opportunity to drive incremental sales, recruit younger shoppers and create excitement in-store during key trading moments across the football season.

“We know ‘cold is sold’, so by prioritising chilled availability and creating standout displays around major fixtures, retailers can tap into matchday missions and unlock impulse purchases.”

This new format will be available across the Coca-Cola Original, Zero Sugar and Diet Coke variants at a recommended retail price of £1.95.

The launch will be supported by a £2.5m campaign in 2026 which runs across social, influencer partnerships, PR and shopper activations.

Additionally, the drinks manufacturer is offering prizes such as hospitality tickets to the final match of the season and VIP stadium tours.

CCEP will offer free point of sale materials through its website to help retailers drive in-store shelf visibility.
