Too Good To Go saves 40m Surprise Bags since UK launch
Too Good To Go has saved 40 million Surprise Bags from going to waste since the social impact company first launched in the UK.
The 40 million Surprise Bags, which include leftover food nearing its sell-by-date and is sold at a reduced price, have avoided the equivalent CO2 emissions of 18,770 flights around the world or the amount of water used to fill 12,790 Olympic swimming pools.
The company, which is the world’s largest marketplace for surplus food after launching in 2016, now has over 155,000 active partners globally selling surplus food and over 40,000 in the UK, including Aldi, Morrisons, Nisa and Spar.

In April, Nisa’s independent retailers hit a milestone, saving 175,000 meals from going to waste with Too Good To Go.
Since the partnership began in 2019, over 300 stores have signed up to the app, with the latest figure equating to 477,187 kilograms of CO2e avoided.
Just last week, Morrisons extended its partnership with Too Good To Go so that customers can purchase ‘Surprise Bags’ from around 930 of its Daily convenience stores.
The expanded initiative comes following a successful trial in various locations across north England, the Midlands and Wales which saw over 40,000 Surprise Bags saved across the regions.
