Tesco has praised the soaring popularity of stout as it becomes the fastest growing beer variety in the UK.
In the last year, volume for the dark beer has grown 35% at the supermarket giant, which said that regional UK brewers such as BrewDog, Hobgoblin and St. Austell are helping to drive interest to the variety.
Tesco also notes that Guinness has helped to create “major” interest following the launch of Nitrosurge – a device which sits on top of specially brewed ‘Nitrosurge Draft Guinness’ cans, replicating the quality of a pub-drawn pint.
