Ocado has been named as the fastest-growing retailer this month by Kantar, as the online retailer posted its first quarter results, which showed a surge in its sales and volumes.
New data from data and analytics company Kantar showed that the supermarket improved sales by 9.5% in the last 12 weeks, citing the success of Ocado’s sustained voucher campaign for drawing in shoppers.
The figures showed the grocer’s sales rose ahead of the total online market which only increased by 6.6%.
Beside Waitrose, Ocado was the only grocer to boost its number of shoppers in the first three months of 2024.
It comes as the online retailer posted a 10.6% sales rise to £645.3m in its first quarter, this morning as volumes climbed 8.1% to £242.1m.

Other supermarkets also experienced positive results, with the UK’s two largest grocers, Tesco and Sainsbury’s year-on-year sales climbing 5.8% and 6.7% respectively, increasing their market share by 0.4 percentage points each to 27.3% and 15.2%.
Morrisons sales increased by 3.6% over the 12 week period, marking a year of consistent growth, while Asda boosted it sales by 0.2% to hold 13.8% of the market.
Co-op was the only major grocer to see its market share fall year on year, as it experienced a 0.4 percentage point dip to 5.5%, compared to 5.7% in the same period last year.
