Kellogg’s maker appoints new commercial chief

Kellogg’s maker Kellanova has appointed Marcella Kain as its new commercial chief, following Chris Dallison’s decision to leave for another global food business.

Kain will join the Kellogg’s and Pringle manufacturer from Meridian Foods, where she most recently acted as managing director.

Kain’s addition to the Kellanova leadership team follows experience in senior roles in other FMCGs, including juice manufacturer Refresco and ice cream company Froneri.

Kellanova UK and Ireland managing director Chris Silcock said: “Kellanova may be built on the 100 plus year’s legacy of the Kellogg Company, but we are most definitely charting a new course – one where cereal remains important to us but where most of our future growth lies with snacking.

“That’s why I’m privileged to be able to welcome Marcella to the team. Throughout my conversations with Marcella, I have been struck by her open style and passion for people.  I look forward to her settling in and helping us deliver against our future growth goals.”

Kain added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Chris and his leadership team at this very exciting juncture in the Kellanova journey.  I’ve been incredibly impressed by the culture and people I’ve met so far and I’m really looking forward to building on the company’s fantastic success to date whilst we create a future that the heritage of this business can be truly proud of.”

Kain’s appointment comes amid Kellanova marking its sixth month anniversary as a new snacks-led company.

It follows the company splitting from the Kellogg’s Company in October last year, which saw many household name brands including Kellogg’s, Pringles, Pop-Tarts and Nutri-Grain remain under Kellanova’s portfolio.

Other international cereal brands it retained the ability to “steward” include Frosties, Special K and Coco Pops.
