Heinz launches limited edition The Godfather pasta sauce
Heinz is launching a limited edition The Godfather Pasta Sauce at Waitrose, inspired by the film’s iconic spaghetti meatball recipe.
The FMCG giant has joined forces with Paramount to unveil the new sauce, which celebrates an infamous moment in the award-winning 1972 film.
Sold in 490g jars, the new product is inspired by a scene where the character Peter Clemenza shows Michael Corleone how to make his classic spaghetti and meatballs recipe.

Heinz new venture director Caio Fontenele said: “Paramount Pictures’ The Godfather remains one of the greatest films in cinema history. And after we watched Clemenza teaching Michael how to make his perfect pasta sauce, alongside seeing a rising trend on social media of people replicating recipes from their favourite films and TV series at home, we knew it had to be Heinz that finally brought this iconic recipe to the nation.”

“This unexpected yet iconic collaboration is set to unleash excitement and disruption in the pasta sauces category, whether you’re a long-time fan of The Godfather or just looking for a new great-tasting pasta dish”.
The new release forms part of Kraft Heinz’s wider strategy to bring insight-driven innovation to consumers. Last year the FMCG launched a campaign calling upon chefs to “choose their level” with a series of new pasta sauce products.
The new The Godfather Pasta Sauce is available for five weeks exclusively on Heinz’s website or in Waitrose stores nationally from Wednesday (27 February).
