Sainsbury’s has opened a new flagship store in Talbot Green in Wales as the supermarket demonstrates its commitment to ‘Good food for all of us’.
The new 53,000 sq ft store includes a state-of-the-art food hall, an Argos store and the Habitat and Tu Clothing ranges. It also includes new digital signage and displays to help shoppers better navigate the store.
Outside the store is the grocer’s new ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging service, Smart Charge, which allows customers to charge their EVs in as little as 30 minutes.

Other on-site facilities include a new Pay@Pump petrol station, a Starbucks and a Timpson outlet. The store will also participate in Sainsbury’s Nourish The Nation Programme initiative in partnership with Neighbourly.
Sainsbury’s director of property, procurement and EV ventures Patrick Dunne said: “We’re determined to be First Choice for Food, ensuring more customers in more of our stores can enjoy more brilliant Sainsbury’s food. Sainsbury’s Talbot Green is a prime example of how we’re striving towards that.
“The launch of our 30th Smart Charge location is the latest step in our plan to give confidence in public EV charging a major boost by building a trusted ultra-rapid charging brand that helps reduce range anxiety for EV drivers nationwide.”
