Nisa and Booker launch January wholesale value campaigns

Nisa and Booker are launching new value campaigns to help their retailer partners deliver the best prices throughout January.

Nisa is launching a £1m price drop initiative to lower the wholesale selling price of hundreds of products as part of its strategy to ensure retailers remain competitive.

The symbol group’s campaign will focus on areas that have been highlighted as a priority, including lowering the price across 50 branded and Co-op own-brand bread products.

Until 22 January, items such as Kingsmill Soft White Medium and Co-op White Toastie will be reduced by as much as 30%.

Nisa will also be lowering the wholesale selling price across 50 price marked pack snacking and impulse products including Walkers Ready Salted, Pringles BBQ, Oreo Double Cream and Galaxy chocolate, with lines being reduced by as much as 21%.

It will also continue to invest across Lost Mary and Elf Bar ranges to lock prices at £18.99 and £18.50 until 20 January, and roll out weekly deals across tobacco.

Nisa director of wholesale Ayaz Alam said: “We invested in our pricing strategy a number of times last year and we wanted to further strengthen our pricing position and give our retailers a positive start into 2024.

“Going into the new year, we know it’s still a tough market, so we hope these price commitments provide our retailers with the certainty that at Nisa we offer market competitive prices.”

Booker has invested over £5m in a new value campaign which looks to “deliver the best choice, price and service” for retailers throughout the month.

Running until 30 January, the wholesale distributor which is a subsidiary of supermarket giant Tesco, will be offering 12 buy one get one free deals across items such as Tetley tea bags and Jack’s kitchen towel, The Grocer reported.

Half-price promotions will also be available on products such as nine-roll Velvet toilet tissue and Jack’s baby potatoes.

Improved pricing will roll out across everyday essentials such as bread, milk and eggs, while frozen meals will also see deals such as Birds Eye crispy chicken for £2.89 and Jack’s chips worth £1.69 for free.

Booker Retail managing director Colm Johnson said: “It is essential that retailers can rely on Booker to deliver the best choice, price, and service for them, while still delivering high margins.

“This strong value offering for Premier through a usually quiet month shows we will continue to be committed and offer excellent value for not only the shoppers but also our retailers.”
