Aldi has extended its collection window to reserve surplus food bags via Too Good To Go, with customers now able to secure a bag up to 24 hours ahead of their pick-up time.
The ‘Surprise Bags’ contain a range of grocery products that are approaching their sell-by or use-by dates at less than a third of the price – costing £3.30 each for at least £10 worth of food.
Customers can search for a nearby Aldi store in the Too Good To Go app before selecting a time to collect their bag, with pick-up times now available from 10pm the day before.

Aldi UK national sustainability director Liz Fox said: “By extending the time our customers can reserve a Surprise Bag via To Good To Go, we are hoping even more people can benefit from the initiative.
“Not only has this partnership helped in our goal to cut down on food waste, but Too Good To Go also offers a simple and accessible way for consumers to save even more money when shopping at Aldi. It has been amazing to see how many have benefited already since our partnership began.”
Since partnering with the surplus food platform last year, Aldi has sold almost 320,000 Surprise Bags.
In addition, the discount grocer’s UK stores donate surplus food to local causes year-round, with more than 40m meals provided to community giving platform Neighbourly since 2019.
