Aldi saves giant rooftop parking spot for Santa

Aldi has saved a giant rooftop parking spot for Santa and his reindeer on top of one of its stores.

The discount supermarket gave shoppers an early Christmas surprise with the unveiling of a sleigh-spaced parking spot on top of the roof of Aldi Knutsford, with enough space reserved for Santa’s nine reindeer.

Painted bright yellow, the eye-catching 11 by 6-metre installation is designed to safely guide Santa to land from the sky at night.

One local shopper took to social media to express her surprise at her local store’s new feature.

She said: “Just spotted this at the Aldi Knutsford store, such a nice surprise when taking the kids shopping – they loved it!”

“I couldn’t believe my eyes this morning! As I was heading into Aldi for some early morning shopping, I spotted this magical parking spot for Santa on the roof. It’s the kind of Christmas surprise that makes you feel like a kid again!”

Aldi managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said: “The Knutsford locals thought they were in for an ordinary day until they spotted the magical parking space we installed on our store’s roof.

“While our middle aisle is known for surprises, this rooftop revelation was specifically crafted for Santa’s visit, aiming to bring delight to our shoppers throughout the festive season.”

The festive new installation comes as Aldi anticipates this Christmas will be it’s biggest yet, as it predicts more consumers will opt to shop with the grocery.
