Getir is cutting prices across over 100 essential everyday products in a bid to help shoppers save during the cost-of-living crisis.

The rapid grocery delivery firm will be offering savings of up to £1.75 across its app from today (21 September).

Products in the price cut initiative include Lavazza Qualita Rossa ground coffee, Doritos mild salsa, Magnum Mini classic ice cream, Fage Total 0% Greek yoghurt, Oatly Long Life, Propercorn sweet and salty popcorn, Maryland cookies, Fairy Non Bio pods and Its Hoisin Duck bao buns.

Getir UK GM Karthik Harith said: “At Getir, we believe in offering our customers a great deal every day. We want our customers to enjoy everyday essentials at unbeatable prices, and all delivered to your doorstep in minutes – that’s the Getir difference.”

This comes despite Getir’s search for fresh funding as its valuation dropped to £1.9bn earlier this month.

The grocery delivery company had previously been valued at nearly £9.6bn in early 2022, but has since been struggling to make profits amid ‘challenging conditions’.

In July, Getir unveiled plans to sell off dozens of bikes, chiller cabinets and delivery boxes as it closed several dark stores around the UK.

It also made 2,500 of its global staff (more than 10%) redundant and unveiled plans to exit Spain, Italy and Portugal in order to focus on existing operations in other markets.
