Asda launches ‘Back to School’ bonus on loyalty app

Asda has launched a new ‘Back to School’ bonus on its Rewards app to help customers save on essentials.

Shoppers will get 10% back on school uniforms until 10 September and a £2 cashpot giveaway when they spend £10 on school products such as stationary, lunch boxes and drink bottles until 3 September.

New Asda Rewards customers that download and scan the app for the first time will also get £5 in their cashpot until midnight on 30 September.

On top of this, Asda is offering 10% off all schoolwear online via its George website until 11 September.

The move looks to support families that are struggling amid the cost-of-living crisis, with 25% of the supermarket’s customers planning to buy fewer school uniforms this year.

George senior buying manager for schoolwear, Scott MacRae, said: “With only a week until schools return, we know that our customers will be focused on making sure their children are kitted out for the new school year.

“We appreciate that this can be stressful, especially for large families, so we want to help budgets stretch further with our back-to-school offers across our website and Asda Rewards.”

This comes as Asda invested £23m to cut the prices of 425 branded and own-label products last week.

Prices have been lowered by an average of 11% on items such as nappies, infant follow on milk, bread, cheese, cereals, pasta, fish fingers, sausages and chicken breasts.
