Capri Sun is to take back the sales and distribution of its drinks in the UK, ending its partnership with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

It will also be moving operations back in house across France, Monaco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Spain and Portugal.

The transition, which will begin next March, comes as the group looks to “be closer to its customers and to accelerate growth”, Beverage Daily reported.

CCEP will continue to co-pack the brand’s products in Great Britain until the end of 2024.

This comes as Capri Sun has taken back sales and distribution in Switzerland, Austria, the Middle East, China and Poland over the past five years.

Capri Sun Group Holding AG CEO, Roland Weening, said: “CCEP has been a successful cooperation over the years. We have concluded on both sides that the future needs both companies to focus on their own brands.”

He added that looking ahead, the group is “planning the launch of recyclable pouches as well as more low-sugar products, and we will continue to drive innovation further”.

Weening said Capri Sun would be investing an additional £36m in 2024 to support these initiatives and the transition away from Coca-Cola.
