Dunnhumby appoints former HSBC digital director as new CEO

Dunnhumby has appointed former HSBC digital director Josh Bottomley as its new CEO.

Bottomley had recently served as operating partner at CVC Capital Partners and has held senior roles like the global director for digital, data and development at HSBC, and the global head for display at Google, among other data and product-led businesses.

He will join the insight platform in July and will succeed Dan Olley, who has been CEO of the company since January 2022.

Commenting on Josh’s appointment, Tesco Group CEO Ken Murphy said: “Josh is an energetic leader with strong experience in improving customer propositions, product and digital innovation, and in leading tech and product transformation.

“The capabilities and skills of Dunnhumby give us unique strengths, and I’m confident that under Josh’s leadership we’ll continue to build on that.”

Murphy added: “I’d also like to thank Dan for his continued passion for Dunnhumby, and for his leadership in developing and executing the Dunnhumby strategy.”
