Speaking of his time at Aldi, Zavalis said that the brand was “rising up in the consciousness of the public from a base of 3% share as the seventh biggest grocer in the UK and is now the fourth largest with a 10% market share”.
“We worked hard to dispel the quality perception issues and convinced UK shoppers that low prices didn’t result in low quality products.”
While at Aldi, he worked on the launch of Kevin the Carrot in 2016, the Like Brands campaign and the Swap and Save campaigns.
Zavalis added that he will be taking on a new challenge in a few months time.
“I’m incredibly excited about it as I get to work with another group of talented people who are focused on making a big impact on the market.”
