Tesco extends price cuts to 30 pasta and cooking oil products

Tesco has unveiled further price cuts across 30 own-brand pasta and cooking oil products.

This price cuts come on top of the drop in bread and butter prices last week, following reductions to its milk range in April.

Tesco has now extended the cuts to 18 of its 500g pasta products including lasagne, spaghetti, fusilli, rigatoni, macaroni and penne, down by 15p to 80p.

Tesco’s organic pasta offer have also seen 15p price cuts to £1.20, while its 1kg own-brand pasta range will now be available for £1.50 instead of its original price of £1.65.

The supermarket’s 1 litre vegetable oil is now £1.85, down from £1.99, and its sunflower oil has dropped in price by 15p to £2.25.

Tesco group chief product officer Ashwin Prasad said the retailer had seen deflation on key cupboard essentials.

“We hope that by reducing prices on these thirty products which are bought week-in, week-out, we can help customers spend less.

“So whether you’re buying a branded favourite covered by our price lock, stocking up on essentials from Aldi Price Match, or treating yourself to an exclusive deal with Clubcard Prices – you can be confident of finding great value at Tesco,” Prasad added.
