Co-op and Just Eat to deliver from almost 1,000 stores this month

Co-op’s partnership with Just Eat is set to deliver from nearly 1,000 stores by the end of May as it increases its online availability.

Following a successful trial with Just Eat, the convenience retailer now looks to achieve 30% of the UK online quick convenience market from store to door.

Co-op has also estimated that more than 80% of the UK population will have access to its offerings by the end of 2023 through its partners and own online shop.

Using its stores located in local communities to increase its online offer, the retailer saw its online revenues grow by 24% last year.

In expanding its grocery delivery services further, Co-op has rolled out self-driving robots to more areas over the last six months, and now operates the autonomous grocery deliveries in Bedford, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Leeds and Greater Manchester.

“Co-op is combining physical and digital routes to market stores to further expand and grow its online reach,” Co-op eCommerce director, Chris Conway said.

“With our stores located in the heart of communities, closer to where our Members and customers live and work – we continually look to create increased flexible options online.”

Just Eat UK strategic accounts director, Amy Heather added: “Our partnership offers convenience grocery delivery from store to door across the UK – bringing access to a wide range of fanstastic Co-op products which are delivered to our customers homes within minutes.

“This partnership is another example of Just Eat’s commitment to grocery in the UK and Co-op is proving to be a popular addition for our customers.”
