Häagen-Dazs launch new limited-edition ice cream inspired by afternoon tea

Häagen-Dazs is launching a new limited-edition collection inspired by the afternoon tea occasion.

As part of the collection, the luxury ice cream brand is introducing two flavours – Orange and Pomegranate Tart and Blooming Blueberry Tart – exclusively launching in online retailer Ocado later this month.

The patisserie-inspired ice cream combines the vibrant colours of the season with a “refreshingly fruity” taste that will appeal to shoppers looking for new food trends to explore.

Firstly, the Orange and Pomegranate Tart ice cream pairs a unique blood orange ice cream with a pink pomegranate, creating a “rich and citrusy” flavour.

Meanwhile, Blooming Blueberry Tart contains a blueberry ice cream with subtle floral notes for a “rich and intense” fruity flavour.

Each ice cream flavour contains soft biscuit tart pieces, further fitting and enhancing the afternoon tea theme.

Additionally, the packaging boasts eye-catching artwork combined with bright seasonal colours that were to designed to standout on shelves.

In February, Häagen-Dazs partnered with world-renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé to launch an exclusive new ice cream range with macarons.

To further animate the afternoon tea occasion, a QR code is available on each pack and will provide an entertaining AR experience with a game that requires timing and speed to beat the clock, along with skill to stack as many cakes as possible.

“Häagen-Dazs ice creams are created for special moments, whether that’s celebrating with friends or family, or just having a moment to yourself,” head of Häagen-Dazs UK, Jose Alves said.

“Our new collection elevates the timeless and elegant tradition of afternoon tea by creating an iconic tea-time dessert that is both fitting for the season and introduces another special occasion for people to celebrate with ice cream,”

Alvez added: “The two trend-setting flavours will spark moments of joy by combining patisserie with ice cream to offer consumers the ultimate indulgent treat, while our new AR experience will drive further relevancy to the Häagen-Dazs brand by bringing the afternoon tea occasion to life in a fun and interactive way.”
