Waitrose extends partnership with Wincanton in new five-year contract

Waitrose & Partners has extended its relationship with Wincanton building on 25 years of collaboration between the two companies.

The leading supply chain partner has successfully managed this operation for Waitrose & Partners since 1998.

Under the new five-year contract, Wincanton will continue to manage the storage and distribution of wines and spirits for Waitrose & Partners from its bonded warehouse facility in Greenford, London.

The operation will see Wincanton serve Waitrose’s network of 329 shops, including 59 convenience shops, in addition to 27 Welcome Break motorway service locations and its dedicated online wine ordering site, Waitrose Cellar.

Wincanton will coordinate the delivery of some 13 million cases of wines and spirits for the retailer each year.

The upmarket retailer will also benefit from Wincanton’s latest investment in a new warehouse management system which will improve efficiency and accuracy.

In November, Wincanton Group published its half year results for the six months to 30 September 2022.
