The co-founder of Prime Hydration, KSI, has said Tesco is not currently stocking the viral energy drink due to the “security cost to protect shoppers”.
The YouTuber claims the Big 4 grocer is “waiting for demand to go down”
“We have the supply,” tweeted KSI, who co-founded the energy drink with fellow YouTuber Logan Paul.
“Tesco just told us that the security cost to protect shoppers would cost more than they were willing to spend based off the prime demand. That’s why it won’t be in Tesco.”
We have the supply lol. Tesco just told us that the security cost to protect shoppers would cost more than they were willing to spend based off the prime demand. That’s why it won’t be in Tesco. They’re waiting for the demand to go down 😅 https://t.co/0S8pPyCnD9

However, Tom Bastable, the developer of the Prime Tracker app which allows shoppers to find stock of the product, told The Grocer, he had received a message from someone who claimed to be a buyer at the supermarket giant.
which helps shoppers find stock of Prime suggested otherwise. Tom told The Grocer that he had received a private message from someone who claimed to be a buyer at Tesco.
Bastable said the message read: “Seniors do not want to repeat the press that Aldi received. Once the demand decreases around the summer, we will review it.”
This comes as in December, giant queues formed outside of Aldi stores up and down the country after the supermarket revealed bottles of Prime were available to buy.
Twitter user Mark Hall said there was “absolute carnage” at his local store, while another social media user posted similar scenes from the Chelmsford branch.
