Fruitella expands into the jellies market with the launch of two new interactive products

Fruitella has expanded into the jellies market with the launch of two new interactive products named ‘Fruitella Curiosities’.

The iconic confectionary brand have themed the new packs around two different biomes, marine life ‘By the Sea’ and Antartic life ‘In the Snow’.

The new themed packets have been introduced as part of Fruitella’s innovation drive through interactivity – as each pack features a scannable QR code where consumers can they create their very own creature on their device via Augmented Reality (AR).

Now available to buy in most major retailers for £1.50 per pack, the HFSS-compliant jellies are made with 30% reduced sugar, real fruit juice, and natural colourings and flavours.

‘By the Sea’ features soft fish, starfish and crab shapes in popular flavours lemon, orange, and strawberry. ‘In the Snow’ contains a mixture of penguins, polar bears and walruses that taste of blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry.

Fruittella Curiosities’ boasts a host of animal facts, along with a scannable QR code on the back taking the user through to a microsite where they can learn even more about the theme – and even to create their own AR animal.

“This expansion of the beloved Fruittella portfolio caters to parents with 4-12 year olds who are searching for an all-natural treat for the family with an added interactive twist – with the quality assurance that comes from a trustworthy household name,” senior brand manager at Fruitella, Lauren Potter said.

“By The Sea’ and ‘In the Snow’ are only the beginning of a multiverse of fun from Fruittella Curiosities, so watch this space for more wild and wonderful flights of delicious fancy launching soon,” Potter added.

The news comes as Spar is extending its own-label confectionery range with five new lines. The symbol group retailer’s vegan and vegetarian take-home sweets include Giant Strawberries, Yummy Bears and Soury Gummy Mix at RRP £1.20 each.
