Milk & More partners with Again to reuse millions of packaging items

Milk & More has partnered with reusable packaging operation, Again to reuse up to an additional three million items of packaging.

The scheme which is first being trialled across the Tom Parker Creamery brand and to The Village Press range of products later this month, allows shoppers to rinse packaging and leave these on their doorstep to be collected.

The packaging will then be washed by Again and sold back to the brands to be refilled and reused.

This comes as the grocery and milk doorstep delivery service looks to help its customers act more sustainably, with the collaboration building on its current zero waste packaging offering, which is currently 80% of everything it sells.

“As a leading retailer in refillables and zero waste packaging, we know our customers want to be more sustainable, but they are busy people and need convenient solutions – which is exactly what our partnership with Again offers them,” Milk & More CEO Patrick Müller said.

He added that the company has one of the largest electric delivery fleets in the country, “making nearly a million deliveries to homes across the country each week and before this trial, delivered 80 million units of zero waste packaging a year, most of which are pints of milk in reusable glass bottles.”

Müller said that Milk & More has “the proven logistic capabilities” to extend the model further, adding that “refillable products are one of the most effective ways we can all reduce waste and our carbon footprint.

“Refills feature fewer packaging materials, which means a smaller carbon footprint and eliminate any pointless plastic which can be accumulated when you buy a product regularly”.
