Better Nature launches new Tempeh range for Veganuary

Better Nature is set to launch a new range of Martinated Tempeh Pieces as it looks to cater to growing demand for natural and convenient options in the plant-based category.

Last month, the plant-based brand secured a £700,000 Seed Plus round to fuel retail growth for its tempeh range across the UK and Europe and as a result, its newest products will be launching from January 2023 during Veganuary.

The range made from tempeh features three new flavours including Mediterranean, Curry and BBQ, each of which can be pan fried or baked.

The 100% natural and gluten-free products will be rolling out at RRP £3.29 as a new listing in Holland & Barrett and via distribution to Allplants, Gopuff, Minful Chef and Selfridges.

“With meat-free category growth slowing, we know that it isn’t delivering on what customers are looking for, which is health. A huge opportunity has opened up for 100% natural plant-based foods, like tempeh, that deliver on both health and convenience,” Better Nature co-founder and chief markting officer, Elin Roberts said.

“Our marinated Tempeh range offers health-conscious, time-poor consumers in the UK something new – tasty plant-based foods that are quick and easy to prepare, whilst also being completely natural, packed with protein and fibre, gluten-free and one of your five a day.”

He said that while tempeh “is still a relatively new concept for UK consumers”, the new range introduces people to the products “in a convenient and accessible way.”

Roberts added that the brand looks to “break down barriers to showcase tempeh as a delicious and versatile plant-based food and create mainstream appeal,” as it also “offers supermarkets an opportunity to better appeal to customer needs and fuel meat-free category growth as we head into 2023.”
