Tesco revamps customer Clubcard coupons in time for Christmas

Tesco is giving its Clubcard users a pre-Christmas boost with a new revamp of the way it issues its money-saving coupons as the current Clubcard-only app prepares to close in 2023.

Over four million of the leading retailer’s shoppers who use the Tesco Clubcard & Grocery app will now receive personalised coupons every two weeks in the run up to the big day. They were previously sent out every six weeks.

Now being offered three times more often than before, the digital coupons will be selected based on a customers tastes and include bonus points and instant discounts to use in-store and online.

“Our customers love the way their Clubcard helps them save money on their shopping whilst earning Clubcard points to put towards those little treats like days out and restaurant meals, or to help lower the cost of their groceries and fuel,” Tesco chief customer officer, Alessandra Bellini said.

“This exciting new revamp of our personalised Clubcard Coupons is the latest way we’re rewarding our customers and helping them unlock the power of their Clubcard.”

Tesco will be closing its existing standalone Clubcard app next year and instead using the new Tesco Clubcard & Grocery app. Members receiving Clubcard statements and vouchers by post will continue to have the option to do so.

The new Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app helps customers shop in-store and online, earn Clubcard points and use Clubcard coupons and vouchers.

It also has a number of other new features, including a Store Stock Checker, a shopping list function and an in-store payment barcode which allows customers to add a payment card so they can pay for their shopping, save with Clubcard Prices, collect Clubcard points and use coupons with just one scan.

This comes as the Big 4 grocer rolled out its annual food collection today (1 December), looking to support the Trussell Trust’s network of food banks and FareShare over the winter period.

For me I shop at Tesco because I’m a retired colleague and was allowed to keep my colleague discount card.If I didn’t have my colleague discount card.I would shop elsewhere. That’s what keeps me shopping at Tesco. Not the Clubcard. That’s just a bonus for me.
