Tesco warns customers of major Clubcard changes

Tesco has warned customers of major changes to its Clubcard scheme, resulting in customers getting less for their money.

Currently, Clubcard points are worth more than three times its value when spent on ‘Delivery Saver’, but from next week customers will instead only be able to redeem Tesco Clubcard points at face value.

Currently, every 50p in Clubcard vouchers can be redeemed to get £1.50 off a delivery package when customers convert points to spend at a ‘Rewards Partner’.

Customers were informed via email warning them of the changes, with customers having until 14 November to claim delivery codes before the new plans come into effect.

“We know times are tough for many customers right now, particularly as we head into the winter months,” Tesco UK CEO Jason Tarry said.

“We hope this extended price-lock commitment gives our customers the certainty of knowing that over a thousand household favourites will stay at the same great price for months to come – helping them budget when they need it most.”

The news comes as the Big 4 grocer unveiled its Christmas 2022 ad, which aired during ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and promises to deliver an ‘affordable, joyful’ festive season for all.

The new festive campaign from the UK’s largest supermarket recognises that that “joy may be in short supply at the moment” and aims to help shoppers “celebrate in style”, regardless of their budget.
