Morrisons has unveiled the first of its new exclusive deals on offer to its loyalty card members as it takes on Tesco’s Clubcard scheme.
Set to roll out across the supermarket giant’s stores from this week, the new discounts available for its My Morrisons users includes half price on Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
As Christmas approaches, these promotions are set to spread across its confectionary tubs, offering two for £6 offers on Heroes, Celebrations, Quality Street and Roses.
Since last weekend, Morrisons started to make its shoppers aware of its newest deals through point of sale advertising in-stores which shows customers that they can ‘scan and save’ through the My Morrisons app or via their physical cards.
“The type of offer available, and the categories we run the offers on, will evolve as we continue to listen to customer feedback,” a Morrisons spokesman told The Grocer when describing the “exclusive deals.”
In May 2021, Morrisons gave its loyalty programme and app a revamp. Offering customers instant money off rather than points, the scheme converts all savings into pounds which are available to spend immediately, meaning customers no longer need to save up points or wait for vouchers.
This saw a further update in July of this year as the grocery retailer looked to simplify its money-saving tactics for customers amid the cost-of-living crisis.
It clarified the instant rewards scheme would be updated to offer more relevant deals, easier navigation and surprise bonuses on categories that customers would most appreciate saving on such as meat, dairy and impulse.
