Kellogg’s has added three new non high in fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) products to its Pringles Multigrain range.
Rolling out in flavours including BBQ Sauce, Roast Chicken & Rosemary and Sour Cream & Chilli, the new products at RRP £2 will contain less salt than the brand‘s original crisps.
The product launch comes as the first of the government’s restrictions on HFSS products are set to roll out across UK supermarkets next month.
This will see products high in fat, salt or sugar banned from aisle ends, at store entrances and checkout stations.
In a bid to create healthier recipes, the new non-HFSS Pringles range is the latest of Kellogg’s updated snacks.
Last year, the FMCG giant pledged to cut sugar and salt in its children’s cereals by 10% and 20% and has since reformulated many of its products including Special K, Krave, Coco Pops, Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies.
“Kellogg’s is committed to developing foods that are better for people and provide more choice,” Kellogg’s UK managing director, Chris Silcock told The Grocer.
“We know that many adults want snack brands to offer more healthy options but they still want them to taste great. That’s why we developed the Pringles Multigrain range.”
Despite its action in increasing its range of non-HFSS products, in April, Kellogg’s announced it would be bringing legal action against the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) over the new HFSS rules in supermarkets.
It has argued that the new HFSS rules are unlawful and fail to consider that people “overwhelmingly” eat cereal with milk.
