Grocery delivery service, Just Eat has expanded its services to over 60% of the UK as it looks to continue adding to its 1,500 sites across the country.
Since the launch of its grocery offerings in January the company has seen a significant rise in sites, with 20 in January and a further 450 rolled out in July alone.
This rapid growth comes as Just Eat has launched partnerships with retailers including Asda, Londis, Budgens, One Stop and Central England Co-op.
Its expansion has also seen a rise in products available, with over 2,000 featured on the site including staples such as bread, tea bags and eggs.
According to Just Eat its most popular item is milk with the amount of pints sold within the past six months, the equivalent of milk used to make 17 million cups of tea.
“Just Eat’s grocery offering is going from strength to strength. We’ve demonstrated to our partners the huge value we can provide with on-demand delivery and it’s amazing to see us expand so quickly,” Just Eat director of strategic partnerships, Amy Heather said.
“Since launching earlier this year, we’ve seen more and more of our customers relying on grocery delivery to support them in their busy lives.
“This is only the beginning and I look forward to announcing future big moves in this space to expand our grocery offering even further.”
This news follows Just Eat’s partnership with symbol group retailer Booker Wholesale and as a result, operators of Londis, Premier, Budgens and Family Shopper will be able to offer customers a range of fresh food, everyday essentials, drinks and tobacco.
