Vegan brand This expands senior leadership team with 3 new appointments

Plant-based meat business, This has announced three new appointments to its senior leadership team in a bid to boost its growth.

The company will be welcoming almost 50 years worth of combined experience across leading brands with its new marketing director, commercial director and operations director.

Its new marketing director, Dee Bulsara will be working with the wider marketing team on strategy management, campaign development and brand marketing.

Having previously worked for Argos and Big 4 grocer Sainsbury’s, also leading strategic growth and brand marketing for Soap & Glory, Fitflop and Kiddylicious, in 2020, Bulsara was named ‘one to watch’ in the LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Leaders.

New commercial director, Jack Rutherford is set to head up the commercial growth strategy which currently sees This becoming one of the fastest growing plant-based brands.

Rutherford’s previous positions include sales director at pet food brand, Lily’s Kitchen and a member of the commercial team at premium drinks business, Diageo.

Daniel Angadi has been named as This’ operations director, following his previous role as head of European supply at smoothie brand, Innocent Drinks.

His new position will include leading the operations team, helping to facilitate and drive This’ growth and innovation plans.

“The demand for plant-based food continues to grow at pace,” This managing director, Mark Turner said.

“With excellent products and a strong brand, we have ambitious plans to lead and drive this growth. The combined experience of Jack, Daniel and Dee will be invaluable in helping us get there.”

This news comes as This has partnered with snack brand, Hippeas to create vegan smoky bacon flavoured chickpea puff snacks, ‘Isn’t Smoky Bacon’.

The new  product achieves its meat-like taste using the same flavouring as This’ plant-based bacon and bacon lardons.
