Iceland launches new ‘Doing it right: right now’ campaign

Iceland Foods has launched a new ‘Doing it right: right now’ campaign which sees managing director Richard Walker calling on businesses to “shoulder some of the hardship” to help support customers during the cost-of-living crisis.

The campaign includes a Doing it right: right now microsite  which offers a range of cost-saving offers and initiatives to help support UK families get the most value out of their weekly shop.

The initiative underlines the supermarket’s commitment to helping customers deal with the rising cost of groceries and to help them keep track of ways to cut costs, with a central hub allowing shoppers to keep track of the ways they can save on their grocery shopping at Iceland.

New deals and initiatives will be announced on the platform each week and will run across branded goods as well as Iceland own-brand product.

Launching the campaign, Iceland MD Richard Walker has called on businesses to shoulder more of the hardship that customers are experiencing and innovate and invest in more ways to offer support during these unprecedented times.

“If you are running a business in the UK and not currently doing whatever you can do to support your customers to get through these challenging economic times, I urge you to rethink how you can help shoulder some of this hardship,” he said.

“At Iceland, since the beginning of the year, we have constantly introduced innovative initiatives that make an immediate positive impact on our customers and we won’t stop.

“While businesses do their part, I urge the government to look at what they can really do to support us, such as cuts to business rates for bricks and mortar retailers. These moves will ensure businesses like ourselves, can pass on even more savings to customers”.

Deals already on offer include a weekly discount for over-60s, a £1 price freeze across hundreds of lines and cash back on Free School Meal Vouchers.

The hub also introduces the supermarket’s early Christmas saving scheme which is available via the Iceland Bonus Card and offers customers an extra £15 if they save £100 before Wednesday 31 August.
