Zapp has announced its new partnership with Certific, a platform that enables remote medical testing, to provide customers with UTI and STI test kit deliveries.
The rapid grocery delivery service will see tests delivered in minutes and results for STIs available within 24 to 48 hours, while UTI results can be returned within 60 minutes.
The at-home tests, which includes screening for gonorrhoea and chlamydia, will be available from the pharmacy section of Zapp’s app with UTI tests priced at £20 with a £1.99 delivery fee and STI tests for £85.
The partnership comes as data from Statista shows that during 2020 there were 317,000 STI cases diagnosed and 4.8 million women suffer from a UTI each year.
“Covid-19 has proven that patients are able to perform simple medical tests to a standard that we can diagnose, without needing to see the patient,” Certific chief medical officer, Dr Jonathan Andrews said.
“With the health service increasingly time poor, this use of technology is crucially important. With empathically designed systems, our patients can become active participants in their own diagnosis and treatment pathways.”
Zapp commercial senior-vice president, Ajay Lakhwani added: “The needs of our customers are the key drivers of our offering and hence we stock thousands of products to give customers the best possible selection for when they ‘need something now’.”
“We were the first rapid delivery company to stock Covid-19 tests and we launched the first dedicated ultra-fast delivery Period Store earlier this month, and we’re excited to build on this with our move into medical testing which will enable patients to order STI and UTI testing kits safely, quickly and conveniently.”
Zapp and Certific are looking to expand this home diagnostics and treatment product range further in the future.
