Aldi has bought back its famous Kevin the Carrot toy to help celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which will be taking place early next month, from 2 – 5 June.
A selection of limited-edition celebratory royal characters based on the iconic carrot soft toy will be launched instore and online later this week.
The Platinum Jubilee collection will include eight limited-edition plush toys, with a patriotic version of the cuddly vegetable appearing alongside members of the royal family, including the Queen, Prince Charles and two of her corgis.
The discount supermarket first released a Kevin the Carrot toy collection as part of its Christmas campaign in 2016 and the popular character has returned every year since. This will be Kevin’s first appearance outside of the Christmas period.

The plush collection has proven to be extremely popular with shoppers in the past, with fans queuing for hours to buy them. Characters often sell out in hours, with more than 1.3m Kevins being sold in a one-week period last Christmas.
Many of the toys later appeared at vastly inflated prices on eBay shortly afterwards, with some selling for as much as £1,000.
Keeping in the party spirit, Aldi has also launched a range of Jubilee-inspired beauty products – including temporary tattoos, face gems and nail wraps – as well as two new limited-edition gins, both featuring signature British flavourings and presented in red, white and blue bottles.
