Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity has hit 16,000 donations, a milestone for the symbol group retailer.
Since the charity’s formation in 2008, 16,000 individual donations have been made to charities and causes across the UK, including food banks, refugees, youth sports teams, community groups, hospices, health and wellbeing charities and many more.
In 2021, Nisa supported local charities and groups with over 2,000 donations, totalling over £1 million.
“We’re delighted that communities have benefited from more than 16,000 donations since 2008, as the funding given by our independent retailers can often make a significant difference for the many small charities and community groups supported,” Nisa head of charity Kate Carroll said.
“It’s fantastic to celebrate this tremendous amount of donations made, and we look forward to many more.”

Recently, Children’s Hospice South West was a beneficiary of a MADL donation, receiving £250 to provide music therapy to children and families at Charlton Farm children’s hospice.
Children’s Hospice South West area fundraiser Emma Parker thanks Nisa for its support, saying: “It really makes such a difference in helping us continue to provide care and enrichment opportunities to many local children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
“We really could not do it without the support of people and businesses like yourself.”
