Aldi has created 200 new apprenticeship opportunities this year, with positions available right across the UK.

The apprenticeship push forms part of Aldi’s nationwide expansion drive, with the supermarket expected to create a further 2,000 permanent roles across the UK this year.

Applications are now open for the apprenticeship scheme at the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket, offering opportunities across store, logistics and HGV driver roles.

Store apprentices at Aldi can earn £198 per week in the first year, rising to £295 per week by the third year. They do not require any qualifications, although applicants for the store management programme will need GCSEs in Maths and English.

Apprentices taking on logistics and driver roles will be able to earn £196 and £328 per week respectively. Applicants for the driver positions will need to have held a clean and full UK driving licence for a minimum of two years.

“Apprentices of today are the leaders of tomorrow, so we’re on the lookout for some of the most hardworking and ambitious individuals to join our team,” said Aldi UK’s, recruitment director, Kelly Stokes.

“By taking part in our apprenticeship scheme, individuals can learn the ins and outs of the sector at one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country, while also receiving in-depth skills and training along the way.

“As we continue to grow as a business, we’re constantly looking for more amazing colleagues to bolster our team – and that includes across all ages, roles and backgrounds.”
