Gorillas appoints two new team members

Gorillas has appointed two senior members to its executive leadership team.  

The grocery delivery company has named Adrian Frenzel as its chief operating officer alongside Elmar Broscheit as its new chief financial officer.  

The company announced the appointments as part of its recent growth strategy, which is set to focus on building sustainability and profit with an emphasis on product, environment, operations and tech. 

Broscheit’s prior experience includes an extensive background as an angel investor and venture capitalist, with 13 years spent building businesses in Australia, Asia and Europe.  

He has been working in the food delivery sector since its start, investing in Lieferando, Takeaway.com and Daojia.  

Whereas, Frenzel’s background features more than 15 years of experience in the food and technology industry, with time spent as chief operations officer at Rocket Internet.

He has also held the position of chief executive at Hello Fresh US and as the startup founder of EatFirst and Moonfare. 

“Gorillas’ explosive growth has been driven by our mission to provide consumers instant access to essential grocery needs,” Gorillas chief executive Kağan Sümer said.  

“As we enter a new phase of our development, we will focus on building a scalable and robust business infrastructure to support our existing operations and boost our market penetration. 

“I am very excited that Elmar and Adrian are joining us, and I believe that together we will take Gorillas to the next level.”  

Broscheit added: “Our goal is for Gorillas to become a global household brand name for instant gratification of consumer needs. 

“I cannot imagine anything more exciting than this, I just had to be part of it.” 

Frenzel added: “I’ve followed the stories of many young growth companies, but what Kağan and the Gorillas team have accomplished is absolutely extraordinary. 

“Based on my experience in scaling-up startups and in the food industry, my job will be to continue to deliver an outstanding customer experience, whilst growing and building an amazing operations team globally.”
