Warburtons has announced a partnership with the Community Shop, and Bolton council, to open a new discounted social supermarket in Great Lever.

Community Shop Sunnyside will be located at the former Sunnyside Park Lodge in Great Lever and will have a store, Community Hub and Community Kitchen.

Warburtons will be funding the renovation of the vacant building into a new community centre.

The store will offer lowered food and household essentials, such as its Plenty for 20 range, which offers fruit, vegetables and bread for 20p.

As part of the scheme, the profits will be reinvested into the Community Hub which will provide support and development programmes to help people across the local community to learn new skills.

Additionally, initiative’s Community Kitchen will offer home-cooked meals and give away free meals to children every day.

The new Community Shop will operate a free membership which is open to local residents who need aid.
