Asda issues reminder on £1 ‘winter warmer’ café deal for over 60s
Supermarket chain Asda has issued a final reminder that its café ‘winter warmer’ £1 meal deal to support the over 60s this winter will come to an end on 28 February.
The initiative was launched in November to help ease financial pressures on pensioners during the colder winter months.
“Last year, half a million £1 meals were served showing how vital this initiative is across this age group,” said the retailer.

Until the end of the month, Asda is offering people aged 60 and over the chance to enjoy soup, bread and unlimited tea or coffee for just £1 in any of Asda’s 212 cafes.
Jordan Cummings, Asda’s buying manager for cafes and concessions said: “We know how cold it still is at the moment, and thousands of pensioners continue to worry about how to keep themselves warm in the face of rising living costs and on a fixed income, so we’re sending out a final reminder to come along to Asda Cafe’s and enjoy a hot meal for just £1.
“Last year alone we sold over half a million meals showing the vital need for this initiative and this year has been just as impactful not only to help with costs but it offers a relaxed social environment for people to come and chat to others.”
