Deliveroo has announced a partnership with meal kit brand Dishpatch, which is owned by Waitrose, to deliver on-demand meal kits to customers.

The move aims to provide customers with premium at-home cooking options via Deliveroo.

It follows research that found over half of Brits (57%) said they enjoy cooking; however, only one in three claimed to feel confident cooking from scratch without a recipe.

This is a strategic move for Deliveroo to meet growing consumer demand for easy meal solutions, with a 35% increase in searches for ready meals during the past year on Deliveroo.

Suzy McClintock, vice president of New Verticals at Deliveroo, said: “Many Brits love cooking but don’t always feel confident tackling complex recipes from scratch. Our partnership with Dishpatch solves that challenge perfectly, giving people everything they need to create incredible meals at home, delivered in just 20 minutes. It makes premium dining accessible and enjoyable for everyone, with the speed and convenience that our customers know and love us for.”

Dishpatch CEO Nick Larkins added: “We’re excited that our partnership with Deliveroo will introduce the Dishpatch product to a new audience, with a particular focus on growing our London customer base. It also gives us the opportunity to understand how customers respond to more spontaneous, last-minute meal planning when it comes to meal kits.”

Deliveroo customers will be able to access the selection of 13 meal kits through the delivery service’s app and can receive the order in as little as 20 minutes.

The meal kits were previously available for pre-order with delivery on Fridays and Saturdays only; however, the service has been expanded to Thursdays and Sundays.
