Confectionery manufacturer Ferrero UK and Ireland has appointed Craig Barker as its new regional managing director.

The appointment will see Barker transitioning from his role leading Ferrero’s business across the Asia Pacific region. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the confectionery industry to the position, the majority of which has been within the Ferrero business.

Over the last two decades, he has held several roles across multiple markets, including managing director for the chocolate firm’s Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, and North Asia divisions.

Barker said: “I started my journey with Ferrero as a sales director in the UK 20 years ago, and am pleased to be returning to the region at such a dynamic time.

“Ferrero UK and Ireland continues to grow with strong brands, product innovation and expansion into new categories. I look forward to working alongside the talented team to continue to bring joy to our customers with our iconic brands.”

Barker will take over his new position from Philippe Steyaert, who has moved to be chief business officer at Ferrero’s central office in Luxembourg.

Speaking of his departure, Steyaert said: “I am very proud of what we have achieved together, and I am confident that under Craig’s leadership, Ferrero UK and Ireland will continue to thrive and grow. I look forward to seeing his and the team’s success.”
