Asda is expanding its no and low alcohol range with the launch of Balancing Act – an exclusive wine line designed for shoppers looking to lower their consumption.

The retailer aims to offer shoppers more choice during celebrations and entertainment as the festive season approaches.

There are two price tiers available, which are budget-friendly and more premium wines to cater for a wide range of shopper preferences.

According to the business, the range was crafted in collaboration with Asda’s premium French wine suppliers in the Loire Valley.

As part of the range is a Balancing Act Sauvignon Blanc with 0.0 per cent ABV for £6, which is a budget-friendly option for drinkers.

There is also a more premium version, Balancing Act Sauvignon Blanc 0.5 per cent ABV, for £10. Asda also has two Pinot Noir variants as part of the offer.

Tom Bourne, wine sourcing manager at Asda, said: “The no and low category continues to evolve rapidly, but finding wines that truly deliver on quality and varietal character remains a challenge. With Balancing Act, we’ve worked closely with our winemaking partner in the Loire Valley to create wines that offer a genuine step up in quality.

“Whether they’re cutting back completely or simply moderating during many social events in the run up to the festive period, we wanted to offer wines that don’t feel like a compromise.”

This move is a business strategy to capitalise on the growing rise of no and low alcohol intake as shoppers become more health conscious.

Additionally, the launch comes as shoppers are looking to balance social occasion with mindful drinking choices over the festive period.
