Asda debuts new non-alcohol spirits as it expects 7.7% Dry January growth

Asda has launched two new non-alcohol spirits and relaunched two existing products to bolster its no and low-alcohol range for Dry January.

New additions to its Extra Special Non-Alcoholic Spirit Drink range include Dark Spiced and Red Berries Botanical, while flavours such as Botanical and Rhubarb & Ginger Botanical have been reformulated.

The expansion of its non-alcoholic range comes amid the retailer’s predictions to sell 20,000 units of non-alcoholic beers, wines and spirits this January.

The supermarket giant expects to see sales increase by 7.7% year-on-year in January, as more shoppers engage with Dry January, following it’s low and no range has expanded by 40% in the last 12 months – of both own label and no alcohol range.

The new and improved lines come in 70cl bottles,  are vegan and vegetarian friendly and priced at £10.

Shoppers who purchased Extra Special Non-Alcoholic Rhubarb & Ginger Botanical Spirit Drink will also be contributing to Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign, with 10% of the price of the product donated to its breast cancer charity partners, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.

Asda’s no and low buyer Ryan Truswell said: “At a time when we are seeing a spike in customers shopping for alcohol alternatives, it’s important we can offer them exciting options and expand our existing range to cover all drinks styles and customer favourites.”
