Aldi posts record sales of £19bn for 2025
Aldi has reported strong full-year results, with sales increasing by 5 per cent to a record £19bn for the 12 months to 31 December 2025.
The business reported an operating profit decrease of approximately 0.6 per cent to £432.9m compared to £435.5m in 2024.
According to Aldi, this was driven by an increase in colleague pay and investment in lower prices and infrastructure.
The company’s operating margin for the year was 2.3 per cent compared with 2.4 per cent in the same period last year.
Moving forward, the supermarket has pledged a £900m investment in 2027, which will include 40 new stores and continued works on its distribution network.
Last week the discount retailer announced a £500m investment in the Bardon distribution centre, which is expected to be fully operational by 2027.
According to the business, Aldi has already invested £340m in lowering prices on over 1,000 products across its range to maintain its position as the UK’s cheapest supermarket.

Additionally, the discount retailer has committed to sourcing at least 50 per cent of products through long-term agreements with its suppliers by 2027.
The business stated it spent £14bn with British suppliers in 2025 as it backs its overall commitment to locally grown food.
Giles Hurley, CEO for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “The cost of food remains one of the biggest pressures on households across the country. Recent droughts at home and events overseas have highlighted just how fragile our food system is and why food security must be a long-term national priority.
“We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family – cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.”
Aldi currently operates 1,500 stores across the UK and is set to open 30 stores over the next 10 weeks, including at Dumbarton, Newport and Willesden, London.
