Popeyes Rewards hits 200,000 members within weeks of launch
Popeyes UK has signed up 200,000 customers to its new loyalty programme just over two weeks after launch.
Popeyes Rewards launched nationwide through the company’s app on 2 September, attracting more than 78,000 members in its first five days and passing 100,000 within a week.
Membership has since doubled to 200,000, equivalent to one new sign-up every seven seconds.
The scheme allows customers to earn 100 points for every £1 spent on eligible purchases, with points redeemable against menu items.
Popeyes said almost 400m points have already been issued, while more than 72,000 members have claimed a reward.
Nearly three quarters of those redemptions have been for the chain’s Chicken Cruncher, while a further 15% selected fries.
The programme also includes a “Mardi Gras Moments” prize draw inspired by Popeyes’ New Orleans roots, offering members the chance to win £10,000 and free Chicken Sandwiches for life.
Head of digital marketing James Clark said: “Reaching more than 100,000 members in just one week was a fantastic milestone, but the real success is how quickly customers have embraced the programme.”
Chief technology officer David Carey added that Popeyes Rewards would help the business “strengthen customer relationships, encourage repeat visits and support the continued growth of the business”.
Popeyes said it plans to add further functionality, benefits and rewards to the scheme as it continues expanding across the UK.
