Dr. Oetker partners with Family Action to ‘get more families baking’
Dr. Oetker has teamed up with national charity Family Action to launch a new campaign aimed at helping more families bake together.
The Helping Families Rise partnership will provide baking kits, community classes and free sessions designed to make home baking more accessible to parents, carers and children.
The initiative follows research commissioned by Dr. Oetker which found 75 per cent of families have never baked a cake together, while just 29 per cent have decorated one together.
Lack of time emerged as one of the biggest barriers, cited by 51 per cent of respondents, while 37 per cent said simple family-friendly recipes would encourage them to bake more often.
As part of the partnership, free baking sessions will take place at Family Action FOOD Clubs across the UK, giving families access to ingredients, guidance and practical support.
Dr. Oetker will also take its Baking Bus around the country, with sessions fronted by TV presenter Helen Skelton and baker Liam Charles among others.
The campaign is designed to build confidence in the kitchen while encouraging families to spend more time together through baking.
Dr. Oetker head of marketing for cake Jen Johnson said: “We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of baking – from trying something new and building confidence to sharing delicious treats and creating special moments together.”
Family Action head of corporate partnerships Alyse Roberts added that the initiative would give families the chance to learn new skills while creating “lasting memories” together.
The partnership forms part of Dr. Oetker’s wider focus on home baking in the UK, where it operates across both the pizza and baking categories.
