Co-op has slashed the price of a raft of everyday essentials by as much as 85 per cent, for 24 hours only.

The company is offering an 800g Co-op White Toastie Loaf for 15p, six British medium free-range eggs for 30p and four pints of semi-skimmed milk for 30p through Uber Eats today.

It means shoppers can pick up all three staples for 75p before delivery and other applicable fees. Uber Eats listings for participating Co-op stores show the promotional prices live today.

The one-day promotion comes as Co-op also launches Fresh Mondays, a new weekly offer giving shoppers 50 per cent off selected fresh fruit and vegetables every Monday.

Products included in the initiative include Co-op Hand Picked Blackberries at £1.63, down from £3.25, strawberries at £1.48 from £2.95 and a four-pack of Pink Lady apples at £1.43, down from £2.85.

Other discounts include Co-op Seedless Mixed Grapes for £1.40, Hand Picked Raspberries for £1.35 and Irresistible Exceptionally Sweet Cherry Tomatoes for £1.35. Albert Bartlett Home Grown Potatoes, asparagus and sweet peppers are also among the lines included.

Co-op doubles down on rapid grocery value

Co-op retail director Kate McCrae said the 24-hour offer was designed to give customers access to low-priced essentials alongside the convenience of rapid delivery.

She said the retailer was looking to combine its rapid delivery capabilities with own-brand products and value offers to help customers keep their cupboards stocked.

Orders made through Uber Eats can arrive in as little as 30 minutes, although customers may face delivery, service and small-order charges depending on their basket and location.

Co-op first partnered with Uber Eats in 2022 as part of a major expansion of its quick-commerce operation, initially rolling the service out across around 1,000 stores and making thousands of grocery products available for rapid delivery.

Co-op has also increasingly used price promotions across its wider grocery range, including member pricing and deals on fresh produce, frozen food and meal solutions. Its current online offers include discounted fruit and veg as well as member-only freezer promotions.
