John West launches Stir & Serve microwaveable pouches
John West has launched Stir & Serve microwaveable pouches, which landed in UK and Irish retailers last month.
The Stir & Serve pouches offer shoppers a package with pieces of MSC-certified Skipjack Tuna in a variety of popular dinnertime sauces, including Tomato & Basil; Soy, Ginger & Honey and Spicy Mexican and Mild Curry.
The new product is ready in 2 minutes and serves 46g of protein per pouch, which aims to offer a convenient option for dinnertime at an affordable price.
John West designed the packages to be served alongside a range of carbohydrates which allows consumers to add protein to their dishes in a convenient way.
Stir & Serve is available across UK retailers in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado for a RSP of £3.79.
Ben Ford, managing director of John West Foods, said: “Let’s face it, we’ve all had those nights where you get in from work, can’t be bothered to cook and end up having the same old thing again – or splash out on a takeaway as the easy option.

“That’s what our Stir & Serve is all about – a proper shortcut to tasty dinners that doesn’t feel like you’ve cut corners. Packed with protein and full of flavour, getting tea on the table is a whole lot easier.”
This builds on the current momentum of the ready meal market, with the value growing by 10 per cent to reach £766m, according to NIQ research.
The brand aims to meet the growing demand for high-quality products, with the new range free from artificial colours and additives.
Additionally, each pouch is fully recyclable, which is a significant move from the usual pouch formats in retail, which cannot be recycled.
The brand has announced a marketing campaign to support the launch of the product and drive awareness across VOD, digital and influencer platforms.
