Just Eat posts rise in orders after England’s last match
Just Eat has reported a surge in delivery orders during England’s semi-final match, with an increase in order volumes by an average of 29.6 per cent compared to the pre-tournament figures.
This marks the delivery platform’s busiest match days of the year, with peak orders reaching 647,683 within a single match day.
The highest increase comes after the matches have ended, with takeaway orders increasing by 39.7 per cent in the hour following the game.
Some of the top cuisines which were ordered during the England matches include burgers, Italian and chicken.
The England fixtures drove increased orders throughout the matchday, with orders going up by 34 per cent in the hour before kick-off and increasing by 24 per cent during the match compared to the normal ordering patterns.

Additionally, kick-off time had an impact on consumer ordering habits as the 5pm DR Congo match drove the highest order volumes as viewers combined dinner with football.
Some of the most popular items which were ordered were branded snacks, including Pringles, Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough and Dr Pepper.
The World Cup tournament has provided a major boost for UK retailers, with delivery platforms experiencing a surge in orders.
Andy Washington, commercial director at Just Eat, said in a previous statement: “Football fever is proving to be a win-win for fans and our partners. Whether it’s burgers before kick-off or late-night snacks for the nail-biting moments, England matches are creating some of the busiest days of the year.”
