Aldi invests £60m in summer price cuts across 200 products
Aldi is cutting prices on more than 200 products as part of a £60m summer investment aimed at helping shoppers manage the cost of their weekly shop.
The supermarket has lowered prices across a wide range of everyday items, including fresh and frozen food, cupboard staples, household essentials and personal care products.
The latest reductions include 50p off selected fresh British beef steaks, with Aldi’s 30 Day Matured British Rump Steak now priced at £4.69, its 30 Day Matured British Sirloin Steak at £5.99, and its 28 Day Matured British Fillet Steak at £6.79.
Aldi has also reduced the price of a number of summer favourites. Its Gianni Ice Cream Lollies and Watermelon Fruit Lollies have both fallen from £1.99 to £1.79, while its Ice Cream Cookies are down from £2.49 to £1.95.
The grocer said the latest round of reductions means it has now invested more than £200m in price cuts so far this year.
Aldi UK chief commercial officer Julie Ashfield said: “Now more than ever, we know that customers are looking to manage their budgets for the weekly shop, which is why we’re constantly reviewing prices across our range.
“These latest price reductions cover hundreds of everyday products and offer great value without compromising on quality.”
The investment comes as supermarkets continue to compete on value, with shoppers remaining highly price-conscious across grocery and household essentials.
